Construction on the Zoo’s new African Penguin Exhibit marched on through the unpredictable early spring weather. In this new time lapse video, see the penguin embassy building appear from the ground up, amid continuous work on the rest of the exhibit. This building will house penguins that act as “animal ambassadors” for their species. The ambassadors are an integral part of education demonstrations on and off grounds. We are thrilled for these penguins and the rest of the colony to have a new home in the fall! Above: View of Penguin Interpretive Center (to the left) and Penguin Holding Building (to the right).
The Giraffe House building is currently closed. The giraffe and okapi are viewable outdoors as weather conditions allow.
