Where the Wild Things Art” sip and paint nights are back at The Maryland Zoo for 2016! You are guaranteed to get in touch with your creative side as the host artist guides you through re-creating the night’s featured painting step by step. There are 12 paint nights scheduled for 2016 — each event will feature a different animal in the artwork from penguin to giraffe to monkeys and even an “electric” butterfly! Whether you are unleashing your artistic inner beast or just spending a fun night with friends, you are sure to go home with a painting that is uniquely yours, all while benefiting The Maryland Zoo’s conservation, animal care and education programs.

These special evening events will take place at Penguin Coast, where guests gather and can meet a penguin or two before sitting down at the easel. “Where the Wild Things Art” evenings run from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm on March 16, April 6, April 20, May 4, May 18, June 8, July 6, July 15, July 20, August 3, August 17, September 7 and September 21.

Paint Night events are appropriate for guests ages 16 and older. Admission is $45 per person and includes one complimentary beverage (water, soda, beer or wine), instructional class lead by the Painted Palette, canvas, paint brushes, easel, aprons, up-close photo opportunities with one of the Zoo’s Animal Ambassadors, and all the fun you can handle! A cash bar will also be available for those 21 and over.
